Re: IAC Issues, Scorp and XR, Maybe the "EEC-IV CHIEF" Knows How To Resolve?

I lost track of this conversation, but what dimwits is saying makes absolutely perfect sense - and is very consistent with my experience for whatever that's worth. When I did the last whatever it was on my motor, I also found insulation of the ECM "subharness" in terrible shape, and fixed everything...

Re: Updating Fuel-Line Quick-Connectors & O-rings

Oh, and you can create bends in these tubes. McMaster sells mandrel springs specifically for the purpose. Insert the spring, heat the line, form the line, let it cool, remove the spring. I've done it a few times.... the first was a disaster, but I've gotten better. At least in a big space.... I've b...

Re: Updating Fuel-Line Quick-Connectors & O-rings

I like those "pop out" style quick disconnects ("Bundy") as well, but I've never seen them in the aftermarket. The first one you posted is quite common these days, and I've never had a problem "pushing the button" to get them loose. I've never fully understood the various styles & releases on these ...

Re: Motor mount time... ideas?

Nothing ever picks up, it rings forever. I heard Russ was having some issues and I don't wanna hound the guy, so I'm looking for other options while takes care of himself. I can't help but wonder if some other mount works here... Both my Jeep and my Mercedes have very similar ones... I just don't ha...

Re: Motor mount time... ideas?

Rapido hasn't answered their phone in a long time. I've called for about two months off and on, and every day at least once a day for the last two weeks. I need another option, I can't keep dragging this out. :(

Motor mount time... ideas?

I'm going to go ahead and replaced motor mounts on the XR... I had been intending on picking up the gel mounts from Rapido that Ed gushed about, but it seems that's off the table. Any other ideas or recommendations?

I'm just going to use it for fun when the weather is good. I dunno if I want to get into making big power with expensive parts, or just drive it as is as a unique quick car. I wish there was rally racing around western ny, but all there is around here is auto cross...

Re: Source for Silicone Hose Elbows, Reducers, Connectors, etc

I've purchased a substantial amount of HPS and had great luck - they definitely have a lot of the weird stuff. I also use Verocious pretty frequently - they carry a lot of cool stuff from a good number of brands. Most of the cooling system in my XR4Ti is using silicone from Verocious (Vibrant/Venair...

Re: DIY Flex Fuel Lines

Oh my... didn't see that. Using rubber line isn't advisable (those push on fitting barbs are designed for nylon), but if you do you *must* have clamps on there. 40psi fuel pressure plus 20 lbs of boost = 60psi in that hose. A failure at the wrong time could be devastating.
