Re: XR4TI/Sierra blower motor
Hi all, The blower motor main function is heat or defrost for driving and AC is just a bonus, I would say. Nice bonus though! I looked at fleabay UK and they offer a blower motor for a Sierra XR 2.0L that looks just like the one in my XR. As a manufacturer having common parts across a line saves mon...

Cosworth for sale
Hi all, I was looking around in fleabay UK and ran across this: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/235501189556?itmmeta=01HVRSVZ70D9T83FVCMP8113WP&hash=item36d4f6f9b4:g:swEAAOSw7PdmBtZh&itmprp=enc%3AAQAJAAAA4EISRztMyCj%2BvXcJ%2FIF9ELe%2F9fNArAI0EdfTZlcO3iAuNB6GS8nkTmpGpqrNVxghC1b03lvQ8uiR7JHIJlkEDhF...

Hi all,
Gee the rattle sound of a diesel without the stinky fuel smell. What's not to like? Just kidding of course. What mileage was on that engine?
Cheers

Re: It's not supposed to glow like this, is it?
Hi all, I would suggest the puff of smoke on starting the engine is related to valve seals that are older. They tend to leak a bit of oil when shut off and sitting and it gives you a bit of smoke during cold engine start up. If it was rings it would smoke constantly. That has been my experience anyw...

Hi all, No reply here so I guess vendors are out? Fleabay listing has 10 in stock: https://www.ebay.com/itm/175901414973?itmmeta=01HVA065EEJ21RT8XZKW4CZ3TK&hash=item28f48a963d:g:sTUAAOSw6Zhk-nun&itmprp=enc%3AAQAJAAAA4MtOqEx3kW1l9NFIbFhpDXK8BAFAE9Hye2dxabXK3Q4bQZlI9IStBckJoCQbLOIIe9fw%2B7d9MR...

Re: 30 years of the Ford Scorpio
Hi all,
It is an ad from a 'breaker' parting out a car on fleabay UK. Motor only was shown.
The import time limit for cars/bikes is actually twenty five years I believe. I have looked at old home market Japanese sport bikes and thought hard about getting one or a Suzuki Cappuccino.
Cheers

Re: 30 years of the Ford Scorpio
Hi all, I mentioned it for Scorpio owners as a way to have what we never had here. The real key to getting something like that over here would be to list them as repair or race parts and ship them by sea freight, I think. I have used sea freight from Japan to US for various things and it is cheap an...

Re: 30 years of the Ford Scorpio
Hi all,
I look in fleabay UK from time to time and a 24v Scorpio engine was for sale in there this week. Cosworth anyone? With most states that could be installed and used, I believe. Not CA or NY, I guess.
Cheers

Hi all, The ZX-6E is a good compromise sport bike. It is comfortable and fast enough to have fun and still has a flat seat so you can have a rider with you if you like. The Brit bikes were never very fast and 110 mph or so was about it for them as stock bikes, my Triumph TSS 750 or the Norton 850, f...

Hi all, Perhaps zzr250cc is a TYPO of mine? There were zxr250cc bikes but not zzr250cc, I think. Larger models in 400cc and 600cc did exist in both designations and were really the same bike in almost all respects marketed in various markets. I had a ZZR400 (400cc) in Japan and a ZX-6E (600cc) in th...

Re: 30 Years of the Ford Scorpio
Hi all, I saw one of those on the street in Copenhagen in '95 and could not believe just how butt ugly it was. The French reviews of that car called it a 'sad frog' for looks. How true. The previous car had style, the succeeding model only had four wheels and ugly written all over it. Ford certainly...

Re: Need some tire thoughts
Hi all, I lived in Minneapolis on South Bryant avenue in the mid '80's for a year and it is not uncommon to have heavy snow there. I went outside after 18" overnight and the company car was a very large lump in the snow. One day later the streets were fine as they had good equipment and were us...

Re: We talked about Chromebooks before..
Hi all, As you possibly know already, many different looking versions of Linux distribution are based on Ubuntu underneath the desktop GUI in use. After using Linux since Red Hat 5 in '98, it is obvious that one of the problems with suggesting Linux usage is the many, many desktop versions on offer....

Hi all, There is a move under way to extend the useful life of these units although it won't help with the current ones in the field: https://www.androidcentral.com/chromebooks-laptops/chromeos-lacros-coming-soon As for operating systems in computers I recommend Linux Mint to any and all who have an...

Any driving report to share?
