Re: Double DIN radios

I very much like the original Merkur radio/cassette design. They remain installed in my four Merks. I had Leo Ars Bayard modify two of my stock radios to include bluetooth, to retain the factory look in my stock '87.5. Pushing the Cr button now enables the bluetooth module. Works great! That matche...

Re: Dallas Tx. area

Guess since I moved here last year, I should update. I've got three now. Gave three parts cars to a buddy in western WA, and sold an 87.5 mono-white, manual to a guy in MI shortly after moving here to New Braunfels. '87.5 mono white (Nina), manual, K2 edition tribute being completed in next month or...

Re: 2024 Carlisle

My wife and I have talked the last few years about making this drive. I've got a functional car...and also a cargo trailer, so it's just money and scheduling, but probably won't happen this year. I'd be heading up from New Braunfels, TX.

Re: Merkur Registry

The registry got sorted (as it is really easy to do in a spreadsheet) without sorting the Notes too, so they're way off. I can tell you I don't have a Duratec in any of my cars... :-)

Meet and drive, June 5th 2022 9:30 am Griots Tacoma

You probably got the gist by reading the subject, but the PNW Merkur XR4Ti group (minted last year after coordinating a PNW event was challenging on the main MCA FB page) is having a meet and drive event. Griot's Garage is giving us the guest/show area out front to park, meet and talk between 9:30-1...

Alternatives to ARP wheel studs

Referring to http://forum.merkurclub.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=7990 I see that there's some alternatives to ARP for the "stock"-minded folks, and there's some impressive M14 options for rally racers, but is there an alternative to the venerable ARP 100-7708 (or 7713) for folks that want mo...

June 6, 2021 LeMay Car Museum, Merkur Day

Given we're all in the PNW, it takes a lot more time, energy and resources to get to the Carlisle event for us West Coasties. That being said, on Sunday, June 6th, the LeMay Car Museum (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/America%27s_Car_Museum) in Tacoma is giving their guest showcase location to Merkurs...

Re: Updating Fuel-Line Quick-Connectors & O-rings

I have a Wabro on the shelf waiting to go into this, so...removing the damper and the bracket is the way to go then. Good point. Thanks for pointing that out.

DPDISXR4Ti wrote: Mon Nov 16, 2020 3:36 pm Why don't you want to replace the fuel rail? The one from the late-80's Fox body 2.3 vehicles works well and uses the more modern spring-lock connectors. FWIW, I think I have one listed for sale in the Classifieds.
Guess, I didn't see the need, yet. Maybe I see the need now. :-)

Re: Updating Fuel-Line Quick-Connectors & O-rings

Here’s where I’m having the issue. The return isn’t really an issue, but I’d like to clean it up, but the feed line is a problem. Maybe a straight bar wouldn’t have this issue, and would save me from changing the way the wiring and vacuum lines span the false firewall too.

Re: Updating Fuel-Line Quick-Connectors & O-rings

I'm finding that in order to fit the OMP front strut tower brace, I'm going to have to rework the fuel lines. I'm not replacing the fuel rail, yet, so are there good options to use another connector on the stock fuel rail and hard lines coming up from under the car in that location? I assume I could...

Re: Merkur desktop

As an example, I picked up a MerkMeter, unintentionally, as a part of a car shell I purchased. Turns out the maker is gone, the website is gone, the docs are gone...unless you go to the Wayback machine. There’s a number of other small time product makers in the community who give to the community fo...
