Re: Idea for helping owners
Need a wiki so we can just cover the basics that get asked over and over and over to get everyone on the same page. A modern day Merkur Encyclopedia if you will.

Re: Brake fluid on frame rail below prop. valve
Well, it passed smog (SWEET) , now there is a new pool of brown brake fluid in the same spot! I'll do more later.

Re: Brake fluid on frame rail below prop. valve
This happened after few miles of shakedown, driving to get alignment, when I returned home I noticed it.
K I just cleaned that entire area. I'll see what happens after driving to smog.

Re: Brake fluid on frame rail below prop. valve
I removed the 2 master cylinder nuts and pulled it away from the booster. Its definitely clean at the seal. Can't really tell inside the booster I think I see some residue, but nothing that looks absolutely like brake fluid. (Also MC reservoir seems hardly attached.) According to my 'understanding' ...

Brake fluid on frame rail below prop. valve
Hey all, here we go again... A good amount of brake fluid is leaking onto the frame rail. The highest point any fluid can be seen is a little near the speedo/clutch cable. Car does drop idle for a moment after cruising at speed and then coming to a stop. Prop valve is not leaking and interface betwe...

Re: I dunno. Idle stumble.
Just to put it in writing, I think Tomco 15508 is the stock equivalent we are looking for.

Re: I dunno. Idle stumble.
That sounds like a reliable route to take. Any idea on the cost of those?

Re: I dunno. Idle stumble.
I had my injectors flow tested and "rebuilt" at a place not to far from you, http://www.doctorinjector.net/ . Cost was reasonable, says $23 for each injector. That being said, first start up after sitting for 4 years, the #2 injector started leaking from a fine crack in the plastic housing...

Re: XR suspension - struts, shocks, springs.
KYB currently has a rebate, $40 off 4, until April 30th, "Qualifying products: KYB Excel-G, GR-2, Gas-a-Just..." Which means it includes the XRs struts and shocks. You have to send in the receipt and UPC codes. One caveat... it has to be "one receipt". I was only able to find a c...

Re: Opening for a driver for lemons at Thunder Hill (nor cal
Any luck finding anyone? I am currently in the process of moving my XR from Sacramento to San Jose. I can't help this time, but am very interested in LeMons and would be interested in that and related endeavors in the future.

In the Ford Specifications 1988 Car for the 2.3 turbo, the only differences I could find were: Main Bearing Cap Bolt 75-85 Oil Pan to block 10-13.5 Exhaust manifold to head 20-30 Add: Turbo Nut to Manifold 28-40 I just thought those critical components were worth noting *shrug* There was a few other...

Power Steering Pump Identification # (Please add yours!)
I am attempting to do some research on the Ford C-II power steering pump. I was wondering if you all could help me by providing some information. On the side of the reservoir is a set of maybe numbers/letters. (I have looked online but found nothing about what these numbers mean, just that Ford says...

Taurus Door Chime
Great praise to someone who can name the year/application for the Taurus (maybe others?) dual warning buzzer that is compatible with the XR.
Extra bonus points if you can provide a part number and picture of the location.
