If you're using t-bolts you do not need to roll beads into the tubing unless you are running some really high boost numbers. I have never had a problem with t-bolts up to 22 psi.

You should be able to mount a late single wing on an early hatch. It will certainly need to be drilled to fit (and fill the biwing holes). The glass width is not an issue when swapping this direction.
