Re: Lot of XR Parts for Sale

Ryan,

I'll also take two of the ignition coils, two fuel rails and a turbo exhaust elbow. If it doesn't require adding another box to ship, I'll take a second turbo down elbow. I'll email you with shipping info and we can talk total cost and payment.

Thanks.

Re: Lot of XR Parts for Sale

Yes, I'll take the distributors. As long as I'm having stuff shipped to me, I guess I should take another look at what else you have.

Re: Lot of XR Parts for Sale

Ryan, have you already thrown out the remaining parts? I'm interested in the distributors if you still have any left. I have two but upon further inspection they both have chipped teeth. You can have them for the cost of shipping if they can be of any use to you. I'm checking with my advisor. I sho...

Re: Frankenstein

Don't worry about the Integrated Relay Controller Module (IRCM). That's an 87-88 Turbo Coupe-specific part. XR's don't have them and neither do Mustangs. I'm not familiar with the ECM warning system you reference.

Re: Frankenstein

If you're going to use factory parts and no tuning mechanism, you need to make sure that the parts all match each other. Specifically, the injector size, the air meter and the EEC. The LA3 requires 35 lb injectors and the "Large" VAM. So from that standpoint, you're fine. The LA3 fuel and timing tab...

As paid members can we post out pictures directly to this website? How..? Yes, you can. When you create a new post, look below the text entry block at the Options and Attachments tabs. Select the Attachments tab and use the Add files button. I don't recall how to get them to show up inline, but I d...

Just speculation, but 1987 was the best year for the bi-wing models.

Pull the seat bottom forward first by those black straps at each end, then the seat backs fold pretty flat.
If you don't flip the bottoms up first, the seat backs won't lay flat.
Thanks, Mike.

Photo of the rear seats folded?

I've gotten an inquiry about how flat the rear cargo area should be with the rear seats in an XR folded down. There were also some associated questions about the process for folding it down. I passed on the instructions from the shop manual, but if someone would be kind enough to post a few photos o...

Re: 1989 Merkur Xr4Ti AGM Battery

I've seen more than one person report problems with the power locks sticking that caused a battery drain. I think I've seen reports of faulty cigarette lighters too. You can try to identify the circuit that the drain is on by pulling fuses one at a time until the drain stops. Once you know which cir...

Re: Having problems logging in? Read this thread

I believe the php warnings are mostly cosmetic. We'll get them taken care of eventually, but I think the login issues may be associated with the URL used to access the site. I've updated the first post in this thread, but it may get overlooked by people who have been following the discussion. If you...

Re: Website issues...

Yes, the error messages show up for me the first time I hit the forum main page. They should go away when we upgrade to the new phpBB version. I "fixed" some of the other errors a while back, but the real long term fix is again a phpBB upgrade.
