Re: What are the chances?
I did not want to change this to a facebook vs. forum debate, but I have to disagree with your statement "Mostly only old fogies using the interweb forums anymore." I have a 2019 Ford Ranger and the Ranger5G forum is very active with young and old alike. I don't think anyone would consider...

Re: What are the chances?
I've looked at the facebook page. There is very little Scorpio activity there as well.
And, as much as I hate to say it, Mostly only old fogies driving Scorpios.

Re: What are the chances?
Yea, well, I don't believe there are 536 Scorpios on the road. I think that data is stale or just plain wrong. How many times have you seen or heard - "Free Scorpio to a good home, otherwise I'm sending it off to the crusher." ? Given the issues the cars suffer from, and if there were trul...

Re: What are the chances?
Not comparable. 42k xr4ti's made. Plus I believe many more surviving examples compared to Scorpio. I'll bet there are well shy of a hundred Scorpios nationwide that are still on the road. Most of those are tagged as classics or antiques and are not driven on a daily basis. The probability of two Sco...

Re: What are the chances?
They sold a lot of Cateras. But only about 20k Scorpios. I believe they sold about 20k Bugeye Sprites, But I am certain there are many more surviving Bugeyes on the road, despite the fact that they are thirty years older than the Scorpio. The Brit car forums abound with Bugeye restorations where the...

What are the chances?
A few days ago I was pulling out of the local post office and came across another Scorpio on the town's main road. I was right in front of the guy in the opposing lane but he did not even notice me as he turned into the shopping center. I was also going into the center as well but I had to wait for ...

IMON email archives
My collection of the IMON email list archives can be downloaded from here: https://www.mediafire.com/file/po57h208m1brxri/IMON_ARCHIVES.zip/file It is about 24 megs zipped. Goes back to around 1994. These are text files. Use a program like Notepad++ to text search through all files in a directory to...

Re: Toolots sale
Well, it looks like the sale is over. It was definitely clearance (or just China dumping) because they no longer sell the items I had purchased. I ended up getting few more rechargeable tools that use the same battery style as the angle grinder. A pressure washer and a HLVP paint sprayer. I already ...

Re: 30 years of the Ford Scorpio
If you are going to ship the motor then just ship the whole dang car. Occasional Cosworth examples show up from time to time at reasonable cost on UK ebay. If you recall, they passed a US law a while back allowing you to import and register cars over 30 years old without any emissions hassles. Shipp...

Re: Gawd I dislike oncoming LED headlights!
I saw that WSJ article last week too Ed.
I have to say they don't really bother me because I am seldom driving at night at this point in my life.
But from reading the article it looks like the DOT may make a move on this.

Re: Tachometer Repair
I have found (at least on the Scorpio) that if the tach is intermittent then the problem is the open frame calibration potentiometer on the tach printed circuit board. You can confirm this by first noting the original position of the pot, and then rotating back and forth and then return it to origin...

Re: 30 years of the Ford Scorpio
Hi all, I look in fleabay UK from time to time and a 24v Scorpio engine was for sale in there this week. Cosworth anyone? With most states that could be installed and used, I believe. Not CA or NY, I guess. Cheers Yeah, all you have to do is get it over here. Maybe you can fly over there and pick i...

Re: 30 years of the Ford Scorpio
It is a shame that all they show it the post 1991 UK version. Which is ugly as sin.
Yep, I think getting close to the time time where I switch my Scorpio to Classic tags.
And I must ask...when will Wheeler Dealers do an episode on the Scorpio?

Re: Toolots sale
This was an unbelievable good deal... https://www.toolots.com/ng-frontend/productDetail?id=41900&title=Cordless+Angle+Grinder+with+Free+20V+Li-ion+Battery+7500rpm I thought it would be garbage but for $15 I took a gamble. I can't believe how nice it is. Came with a 4amp/hr battery and charger an...
