Re: Proper valve cover installation questions

No sealant needed or desired with the Ford "F5" gasket. Ignore the FSM. This gasket didn't exist back then.

I've had my valve cover off and on many times. Same gasket. No sealant. No leaks.

Greble U-Pull-It 2010 - 2025 RIP

Greble U-Pull-It (988 Houtztown Rd, Myerstown, PA 17067) opened as a self-serve junkyard in 2010, becoming quite possibly the largest junkyard in the area, covering 28.5 acres. Four days from now, on May 18th, they will close forever. Copart has purchased the property and will be converting the prop...

Re: Adjustable Voltage Regulator

Is there a reason to do this? My 3G usually sets me at 13.9-14.1VDC when running. I guess I'm trying to understand the purpose to mess with the regulator. Keep in mind, it only works with older Bosch alternators. If you've already upgraded to a more modern alternator such as the 3G, the discussion ...

FWIW, it's easy to spend way too much time on the Prancing Moose site, but there really is some very good content there that is not Volvo specific...

You beat me to it! I also noted Joshua's FB post yesterday.

I presume our original Bosch alternator is the common 28mm slip-ring type, yes?

Re: Alternative Motor Mounts

Bumping this thread with a photo of my alternate motor mount - original application is '93 Thunderbird 3.8. I seem to recall when I first figured this out 20 years ago there were some differences between the early ('89 -'92) and late ('93 - '97) mounts, but now there just seems to be one mount liste...

Moved to the Classified section.

Unless you're a paid-up member you don't have direct photo upload credentials. However, you can link photos if you have them uploaded elsewhere.

Re: Modern Review of the (Granada) Scorpio 4x4

I also just watched that one the other day, so it must have gotten shared somewhere.

It's not really a balanced review as they're comparing the top-of-the-line Scorpio to the base model Saab, Mercedes, and BMW.

But interesting to watch regardless.

Re: Master Cylinder Cap

I also have a Motive Power Bleeder and have successfully used it for years. I haven't needed to use it on the Scorpio - you've basically got a "power bleeder" built in from the factory Teves system, so I've just used that. :headbang

Such a good question I've answered it in it's own thread!

Extra Dinner Tickets for Saturday night

As you're probably aware, paid-up MCA members get a free dinner ticket for the Saturday night awards presentation. But what about your significant other, kid, or the friend you dragged along? No problem. Just drop me a message with the name and I'll have a ticket for him/her to pick up Friday night ...

As I type this there are 4 (FOUR!) rooms available for our weekend and then the hotel is sold out!

Don't be the guy (or girl) who doesn't get a room and then comes whining to me. :cheers

Re: TSS Rear Beam Reinforcement Kit

I'll weld the plates together so they don't get anything between them. I'm just looking for some additional photos of the individual pieces since most likely I'll be making my own. I may have drawn outlines of them, but I'm not sure. Of course, if I did, finding them might be the bigger issue. I'll...
