It also had oil & filter, air filter (Motorcraft lol), plugs, HT leads, brakes stripped, cleaned ,checked etc and new rear drums, shoes, cylinders. Some unnecessary photographs! http://i1014.photobucket.com/albums/af264/beardsoffury/IMG_3640_zps04a1dc53.jpg http://i1014.photobucket.com/albums/af...

Re: mk1 Sierra base model.
So, with the interior out I started to clean things, the plastic stuff got a nice hot, bleachy bath then scrubbed with cillit bang, came out nice. http://i1014.photobucket.com/albums/af264/beardsoffury/IMG_2926_zps406b8f39.jpg [/quote] Then put a couple of seats in and took it for some welding and a...

Re: whats wrong with the inner fender splash guards on my XR
I stripped a '94 Granada Cosworth and the wheel arch liners did seem better but it could just be pot luck that they were still in one piece. Not all Sierra arch liners are knackered yet, still plenty out there that are in good nick. It's probably a case of loads of different batches made over the ye...

Re: Let see pic's of your XR with killer wheels
Come to think of it, your later Xr's probably had that kind of petrol flap?
Or did they all have flaps like that?
I thought I knew a decent enough amount about Sierra's but your XR's throw up another load of differences to learn.

Re: Let see pic's of your XR with killer wheels
NIce! I was about to ask if it's a genuine RS shell or if the number of windows had been reduced from it's days as an XR4Ti? But then I noticed the mk2 Sierra petrol flap. Was this originally a mk2 2 door Sierra imported from Europe? Either way, a lovely looking Sierra :notworthy Also, I have a Rena...

Re: whats wrong with the inner fender splash guards on my XR
I assume we are talking about the plastic arch liners that go brittle? If so the Scorpio liners are very similar, would need a bit of trimming and fettling but could be the closest thing if you can't find any XR4ti liners, although they will be made of the same stuff so finding some could still be a...

Re: mk1 Sierra base model.
I did have a closer look at the back end, took off the bumper and removed the lights to have a nosy around. http://i1014.photobucket.com/albums/af264/beardsoffury/IMG_2937_zpsa7b18b16.jpg http://i1014.photobucket.com/albums/af264/beardsoffury/IMG_2938_zps7c760d5e.jpg N/S seems quite solid http://i10...

Re: mk1 Sierra base model.
Wow! Nice & clean. It isn't half bad is it? I'm fairly pleased! Treat the rust while you have it apart, easy to do now, Nice find, I know it is the most logical thing to do but my heart is ruling my mind with this, and I already have a few other Sierra's in bits at the minute. I would like to d...

Re: mk1 Sierra base model.
Thanks Mark. So, by the time we had got back and sorted out it was getting dark, gave it a wash anyway, then the next day continued with the cleaninig and inspecting of the Sierra. http://i1014.photobucket.com/albums/af264/beardsoffury/IMG_2634_zpsf9e993f6.jpg a look at the car from the inside, I'm ...

Re: Plexiglass rear window?
How about going the whole hog and getting grp bonnet and complete tailgate?
I'm not sure on the availability of stuff like that in North America but I'm certain you'd get it in England easy enough.
