Re: I apparently listed a faux SVO for sale...
There is such a thing as a mustang gt turbo. Iirc correctly it is a standard fox platform of the era (1983) but with a 4 turbo. Where as the svo (suspension wise) is not a standard platform.

Re: Please help me save this car....
You have NO IDEA how p****d off I was inside.... I heard his hilljack buddy say something about cutting the front doghouse and putting a P.O.S. Chevy motor in it and make it a field car. Basically put it to the floor and drive stupid till it blows, rolls or catches fire. Almost a sequel to this htt...

Re: Awesome. A new noise!
Glad you found a solution, you could do without the spacer if you cut off the end of the stub shaft and cut a new groove for the ring clip (just in case you want to perfect your install that is). Take a look at the photo of mine on the right hand stub shaft it would hit the center pin of the differe...

No more Merkur Tech?
I have not worked on the xr in almost 2 years. As I was looking around on old sources of information, I found merkur tech is no longer an active or accessible site. That is too bad, there was some interesting information there.

Re: Need piston rings
Have you tried one of the vendors such as Stinger performance, esslinger engineering, racer Walsh, Merkur parts midwest, or Merkur depot? The last two may know where to source them even if they don’t have them. I am sure I missed a bunch or other resources but these our the go to for 2.3liter and Me...

Re: Looking for advice for top end build and where to spend my money
Unless it is too late to chime in, if I started from scratch again I would do a good fuel pump, fpr, intercooler and a pimp. Great starting point and the results are better drivability and better performance.

Re: Awesome. A new noise!
Do you have a photo all put together with the stubs installed? I finally put mine together, mainly because I wanted to make a fixture to hold the diff in while I set backlash and that took roughly 3-4 years , but thanks to big ‘Rona as the wife calls it here we are. On mine the left stub is ....

Re: Coronavirus project thread
So far I have installed a Godfrey clutch quadrant, t-5, drive shaft with a yoke for t-5 and no rubber mushy thing, finished up an intercooler install that I started way to long ago, waiting on rag joint from Rapido and then I will install new aluminum bushings, new bearing at the firewall, and the n...
