Re: Exhaust manifold damage

I don't think Bob is making his log header anymore. They turn up used occasionally, and now and then you see someone that's made their own. RE: the cracking factory manifold, I think you're thinking of the E3 and not the E6. I don't recall hearing anything about E6s having cracking issues. XRs came...

Re: End of the rope with my '88

I messed with it a little more tonight with some buddies of mine. Its currently running, but very poorly and still has no power. My AFR gauge is reading about 15.0-15.3 at idle when warm and for some reason it leans out to about 17.0 when you give it throttle. Also worth noting, there is a whistlin...

Re: End of the rope with my '88

Most every other part of my life is currently crumbling to pieces so I haven't had the time to check here and I stopped getting email notifications for some reason. The car is at the bottom of the list when life priorities come into place, take care of what is important...Problems will be there whe...

Re: Exhaust manifold damage

Actually, after reading again and continued thinking... The car is currently setup with an external WG, that is what the blue Tial part is that fell off. You can actually get the Gnari exhaust Manifold with a flange to put an external gate on the car, the stock exhaust mani does not have that. To sw...

Re: Exhaust manifold damage

The stock exhaust manifold compared to the whatever you have isn't going to make that big of a difference. Maybe some, but minimal. There are others making stainless headers & stuff that you could go with, but usually they end up cracking at some point as well. Check out the Gnari exhaust manifo...

Re: Exhaust manifold damage

You are right in my opinion, that is one of the Stinger exhaust manifolds, aka eBay special. If you purchase another, it should fail in a few weeks to a month or so depending on how often you drive the car. You'd be better off getting a stock manifold, issue I see, it looks like a lot of the engine ...

Re: 3d models for components of XR4ti and Scorpio

How about weather-stripping? I'm curious how robust 3D printed weather stripping would be? Would it hold up to the elements, and not turn to dust when UV light from the sun hits it? I know nothing about 3D printed materials, keep it in "idiot speak"... The material is thermoplastic polyur...

Re: New Member

Tail light/turn signal is most likely grounding at the connectors, which are all very poor. The lights are mounted in a metal "rack", you can use a self tapper and install a ground wire on them, which should cure the issue, if that is the problem. Test by using some jumper wires clipped as...

Re: Fuel pump, or pumps, or....

In tank filter was replaced in 2107, external filter at eh same time. Fuel pressure testing was done without the external filter to eliminate that as being clogged. I have a Walbro on order with MC2 now. Hoping I get it by friday... I would still check it. You may have to replace the filters a few ...

Re: New Member

Do the above, but also include fuel filter under the drivers seat.
Where are you located?

Re: Fuel pump, or pumps, or....

True, from looking at the info you post, it has good pressure, maybe the volume is low.
When you drop the tank, check the screen of the pump, or the tank, maybe it's full of barnacles like mine was.

Re: Fuel pump, or pumps, or....

I don't believe there is any information on the individual pump, since they both either run, or don't run. The system is not set up to run just one. The pulse dampener is not really necessary, many have removed it and not had any issues. I'm not understanding why you test hooking the pump directly t...

Re: FS 1988 XR4Ti

The long hose and foil wrap may have been part of the TSB for that hose failing as well? In my experience, a car with an in-op A/C system, or a hose that's been loose or open ended for more than a few days or so, the system is cooked and going to need a lot more than just put back together and charg...
