FS: Merkur parts available in NJ

In my thirty years of Merkur ownership, I have accumulated a proverbial sh*t ton of parts. Like Scott Williams, I am downsizing and all these parts have to go. I am not particularly interested in packing up individual parts and shipping them as I am packing up the whole house and spending some time ...

Re: Hagarty Merkur Article published

The difference is the 'Agreed Value' verses 'Stated Value' policy. Hagerty will ensure the car for whatever you state it is worth and that is what you get in the case of a total loss. No hassles.

Re: Hagarty Merkur Article published

Chris - I am not sure what Mark was referring to in terms of restrictions, but mine is insured with Hagerty on a Stated Value policy. The key restrictions are that the car has to have Collector or Classic car registration and that the car should only be used for driving to car shows and other show r...

Hagarty Merkur Article published

Check out the article on the Merkur XR4Ti by Hagarty - the collector car insurance people. I'm screwed - it says I was racing my Merkur at Watkins Glen - a violation of the insurance rules. It was a driving school and anyway at the time I wasn't insured by Hagarty! Good coverage for these cars, Paul

Re: Battery replacement

OK - just to close out this question, I ended up with another Bosch battery and got a pro-rated discount off the new one since it is warrantied for 96 months - 8 years! Thanks for all the suggestions but I wanted one that fit exactly as the OEM one did with the lip and hold-down clamp and the top st...

Battery replacement

The last couple of batteries I have had were Bosch Group 47. Part number 47-600B. They fit well and look good under the hood. Bosch have discontinued that battery so I am looking for suggestions. The Bosch 96R-590B seems like it will fit although it doesn’t have the bottom hold-down ‘lip’ like the s...
