Re: Parking Brake Stop Plungers (Rear Drum Brakes)

Just FYI, the plunger looks to be a unit assembly. That is, the ring slits at 180* in your photos allow for that end to be compressed so the plunger can be removed as a unit. I haven't needed to do that, but studying your photos that seems to me how it would be done. FWIW Noah Boehm here has used ba...

Re: Safe points to support the rear of the car?

I'm too cheap to buy them 🤓...I use a square plywood section as a cushion on the jack head lifting against the beam plates.

Re: Safe points to support the rear of the car?

As mentioned, use some plywood, something like that to set the jackstands on. Jackstands on dirt is no good regardless of if it never rains or snows where you're at. I put the jack under the end of the beam where it bolts to the car on each side, then put jackstand net to it. Where did you get your...

Re: 88 Scorpio

The vent motors don't employ limit switches. They rely on the motors stalling when the vent reaches its stop point.
And over time that point gets a bit longer and longer as the door flap material weakens, and warps or even cracks.

Re: 88 Scorpio

otherwise, seems to be just swell.
Pop off the vent vane covers to see if the doors are "swell" too. (Hearing motors works and doors reak means nothing re if they are "swell".
