Re: Making the Cologne 2.9 Distributor-less using 4L OHV parts

Interesting "upgrade / improvement". I'm curious about your progress to completion. I've been wondering why I still had a 13 mm swivel socket in top tray of my tool box. You have refreshed my foggy memory. I remember Colette telling me to buy the tool that would make tightening the dizzy f...

I-78 Travel Tip

For those using I-78 to Carlisle I live in the area just west of the Delaware River, so here's a travel tip from a local. Traveling west from the NJ/PA boarder [Delaware River] Exit 75 expect a lot of road construction until Exit 35. I-78 ends at I-81. I live near Exit 57. I'll be home with floor ja...

Re: Sudden Intermittent High Idle

Ken Kiser hopefully still has his home made breakout box that he loaned me to use on my Scorpio. I don't remember if it was pass through or single connector. This could help you determine what circuit and/or component is malfunctioning. I suggested to the board for MCA to buy it because he was willi...

1973 Cadillac Eldorado Convertible

I was a sales guy at a Cadillac dealership in early '80s. We had a few coupes & rag tops. Luved driving them. Had one in Pocono PA mountains in a snow storm. With front wheel drive, it just plowed through the snow.

Re: Sudden Intermittent High Idle

< Does it actually SHOW the location of the splices, etc, or just list them? The EVTM lists the locations with the aforementioned cryptic language. > Unfortunately, neither show the exact location of the splices. However, the "-Scorpio Electrical Diagrams 88.pdf" does provide a little info...

Re: Sudden Intermittent High Idle

While doing research on a much newer Ford, I was a little surprised to see comments about Ford still having problems with vacuum hoses . I remember testing the vac hoses with a MityVac, but not necessarily when the Scorpio was having "high idle issues". Why would I want to do that? Of cour...

Here's some info I gathered over the years from IMON, this website and MCA members. Hopefully, it'll help you. If there are any mistakes, I'm sure someone will correct them. I downloaded and open all the files except ".gitattributes" . "8061_opcodes.doc" opened showing all of Word's code. I used Mac OS 10.11 El Capitan with Firefox set to automatically open the downloaded file. When I click on a particular file, a dialog box appears with a spinning c...

Re: My introduction

Welcome to the club. Great to see you're converting a rusty one rather than a solid XR into a racing machine. It always upsets me when I see someone chop up a street able Merkur. What type of racing are you planning to use it for? The XR4Ti forum is the best place to post questions regarding your XR....
