As of a few minutes ago, the Merkurs at Carlisle 2004 Planning Site went "live" at: http://www.merkurclub.com/carlisle_2k4/carlisle_2k4.htm

This year you'll be able to order your dinner tickets, t-shirt, and renew
your MCA membership via one on-line transaction via PayPal. Due to
overwhelming feedback, we have significantly upgraded the dinner menu from
last year - no burgers floating in water this year! As a result, the cost
is slightly higher, but the $21 member price is exactly the same price as
was charged for the dinner in 1999. Lastly, keep in mind, we'll be donating
all t-shirt profits to the Chip Miller Charitable Foundation this year, to
help fund research for a cure to Amyloidosis, the rare disease that cut the
Carlisle Founder's life short. Pre-ordering your t-shirt will ensure that
you get your correct size, and you'll save $2. Merkur artist extraordinaire
Bil Hoorman is finalizing the design for this year's shirt as we speak - it
will be totally different from anything you've seen before!

Dinner

Post by AnHonestCitizen »

The form printable form for the dinner says that the postmark should be no later than May 15, 2002. (I'm really late if that is the case!)
The web-page says that it must be postmarked by the Monday, May 21st. Since there is no such date as Monday the 21st of May, what date is the cut-off?

TIA,
AHC

Hmmm, looks like we did a good job of confusing you, if not ourselves! :? The 15th cut-off was really more for the car registration with Carlisle Productions. The cut-off for the dinner is this Friday the 21st (hey we had the number right! :) ), so go ahead and drop it in the mail by tomorrow and you'll be fine.

Thanks for pointing out the descrepancy!

John - I'll see you at the bar! Oh, theres a question - is there a bar at the dinner? Last year we were all drinking soda  so if that's the case this year I'll see you in the car park.

Here's the deal... They have a minimum for the bar, or there's a reasonably significant flat fee they charge. We wouldn't likley hit the minimum, so we'd have had to factor in that additional fee to the dinner price, and we didn't want to do that.

The good news is that there is a bar in the hotel just down the hallway from our ballroom, so you can get a drink there and bring it in without issue. PA state law says you can't bring in alcohol of your own. There! I have done my duty of explaining the law - it's not my job to enforce it!

Well, I didn't get it in the mail on Tuesday. I sent in my money via Priority Mail just now. I hope that that is good enough.
