Scorpio Parts for Sale, Trade, or Free (Sold)

Post by lcs.nc »

I just came into possession of a 88 Merkur Scorpio.
The entire interior is disassembled with most of two Scorpio interiors stuffed inside. Along with a bunch of other parts.
Most of it is in good shape, some stuff is kinda broken, and some of it is still in original packageing.

If you need trim I have it. Maybe two or three of them.

Switches, got em. Lock motors, got like 8 of em.
Need foggy old headlights? You got em.
Hoses, fuses, AC stuff. OEM radio, 80s computer readout bits, steering wheel.
I'd even be willing to part with the window glass.
The seats are in great shape. Black leather. Front and back are available.
If I can figure out why there are three spare axels in the back you may be able to get some of those too.

Does any of it work? Maybe! Is it actually for a Merkur Scorpio? Mostly! Is it cheap? Yes!

I'm looking for a steering rack (or a rebuild kit?) and a front windshield.
Maybe some other stuff as I get deeper into figuring out what it needs

Ask me any questions. Make me an offer.

Any chance you'd be coming to the June Carlisle Merkur get-together?

I just picked up this Scorpio and brought it back to Fayetteville, NC. I just registered here and searched for windshield... and this thread popped up!

So,... I'm in need of a windshield... and probably other stuff... Buyer's remorse will set in during daylight tomorrow... LOL

Yes, I saw that thread as well. It looks like it is currently a bridge too far. I was really hoping to get this car registered, but with a very cracked windshield I don't see that happening. Hence, my comment about pending buyer's remorse... :-(

I wouldn't assume Fresh Air Inspector's price quotes may be the best/lowest possible.

If we could start with say at least 20 Scorpio owners firm on buying a windshield, the next hurdle would be for them to accept that delivery would be to one wholesaler for its location near a large port, say Baltimore e.g. Individuals would have to either drive to the Baltimore wholesaler or make shipping arrangements to their locations directly or through retail glass installers.

I'm in on such a plan, but are there 19 more who would be? I'd pay up front up to $400/$500 wholesale pick up cost if need be. But not beyond that.

YMMV

Hi Ed,
I believe that my son would be in on this as the Scorpio we just got from South Dakota needs the windshield replaced in order to pass New York State safety inspection.

I don't see this idea becoming reality if ever; there hasn't been enough assured interest in it to date. It's difficult to see any windshield company at any level being interested unless the number of units is well above low single digits.

YMMV
