I've got it moving better than it was now. Certainly NOT "as good as new".

hmmm.....I wonder if I could take that lock out and replace everything, but keep that portion so I can use all one key...???

Your guess is probably better than mine! Studying it some more yesterday, the housing does have a little section that broke off - the typical failure. But it did still work when I had it on the white car.
