Ed have you tried...
Bobby @ BK CLASSIC AUTO GLASS IN BELLEVILLE NEW JERSEY
BKCLASSICAG@GMAIL.COM OR AT 973-759-1485

I doubt anybody has enough Scorpio windshields available for a group buy.

What I should have said is a Group Special Order for manufacturing Scorpio windshields. Don't how many it would take, 20-25 at least possibly. Lack of replacement of new windshields is a severe constraining factor to keeping the remaining fleet on the road even if just occasionally. Some states (many?) require vehicle inspection including windshield integrity for title transfer. For most owners replacing pitted windshields is desirable even if not mandatory. I have a spare new windshield but with two Scorpios I'm planning ahead. XR windshields interestingly have been and seem to continue in production (I also have a spare XR windshield).

I'd advance full $ for two if a group order were possible.

YMMV

Maybe check with vendors who have pull, since most have been in this game of dealing parts for a while, they might have some contacts to make this happen. You may have to buy 25 and then sell them to all your friends for 2x the cost over the next few years to make it happen though.

I bought a windshield (xr4ti version) from rockauto when I first got the car. I figured if I buy it and have it ready to go I will never need it. But if I don't I will get a rock chip and a new windshield will be NLA. That's just how the universe works don't ask me to explain it.

I have an extra XR Cruise Stalk because this is how the universe works.
The stalk currently in service (that I bought from Mike) feels much more robust than the one that came on the car.
That one was cosmetically pretty, but failed, of course. I'll take "works great with some wear", thanks.

Hello Ed,

Great initiative.

I would be interested in one. The challenge for me would be getting the windshield to my neck of the woods in Canada as well as arriving undamaged! :-)
Thank you and take care,

Hello from BC

I recall a Merkur Club FB member (Matt Pullen )posting he could procure Scorpio Windshields.

Somewhere Ive have the name of some companies in Canada that have connection to glass companies in Europe. If they could get the windshields Im not sure how they could be brought over the US border.

Even if you could get 25 individuals to purchase, I can't imagine it would be cost effective for a company to do the limited run.

But I could be wrong. I am certainly no glass expert.

How about someone getting a quote from this place?

Don't they have replacement Granada ones in Europe? Shipping would be nuts, but maybe if it was divided up between enough people it could work?

Yes Granada/ Scorpio ones are available in Europe. If these Canadian glass companies can get them, that would be great. But then we have to get them from Canada to here.
