While this is great material, it sucks that I spent significant money to have all this at my fingertips.

$15.00 is not significant, also there is plenty of other literature on the CD that is well worth the cost. This is in no way a shot at MC2racing, if at all I hope it solves a lot of questions before they get asked.

Ive spent hundreds to have original documents. Don't know where your $15 remark came from.

Pretty sure none of this is copyrighted any longer, at least not by Ford-- and if so, they abandoned the marque, so...

mc2 provides a valuable service/source of info, putting it on a nice CD, nothing wrong with charging for that. I have lots of original documents/manuals, some for so long I can't even remember where I got them.. others came from buying cars, swapping stuff, etc. If you bought a new car off the lot in the 80's, your car isn't worth what you paid for it back then, either.

IF there are no copyright or other issues to the contrary, then putting out this info is only helping everyone. Just the other day, someone on the FB page was looking for the '89 Electrical stuff-- I certainly want him to have easy access to it.

I think copyright laws protect it for 95 years since we don't know the author. Ford's trademark on Merkur has expired, but they still hold the copyright to their manuals. Whether they choose to enforce it or not is possibly a different story.

In order to do that, Ford would have to admit that Merkurs exist, and that they made them.

So I think you're probably OK.
