tach issues, tried the usual suspects...

Post by my8950 »

So, I’ve been having issues with my tachometer for a while. I’ve done the solder check/reheat, also swapped a few different clusters and all give the same result. The tach just reads about 50-75% of what it should be.
What I’m thinking to do is overlay a new wire and see what that does.
Curious if anyone else has found any other things beside the solder trick that solves a slow or NFG tach…???

No but I have found that using a really good, adjustable heat soldering gun provides much better results than my cheapo $10 radio shack soldering iron.
