Motor mount time... ideas?

Post by thesameguy »

I'm going to go ahead and replaced motor mounts on the XR... I had been intending on picking up the gel mounts from Rapido that Ed gushed about, but it seems that's off the table. Any other ideas or recommendations?

Rapido hasn't answered their phone in a long time. I've called for about two months off and on, and every day at least once a day for the last two weeks. I need another option, I can't keep dragging this out. :(

Have you left a message? Russ has been battling some health issues but seems to be able to respond to v-mails and/or Facebook messages.

Nothing ever picks up, it rings forever.

I heard Russ was having some issues and I don't wanna hound the guy, so I'm looking for other options while takes care of himself.

I can't help but wonder if some other mount works here... Both my Jeep and my Mercedes have very similar ones... I just don't have an XR mount free for measurements... Not that anything I had would be an accurate measure of new height. ;)

TBird Supercoupe mounts work. I'm not sure they cross-reference to other vehicles, but the "donut" is almost exactly same. IIR, you might have to tweak the bolt(s) to make it work. And, you'll probably have to buy the whole bracket assembly just to get the donut, but back when it wasn't all that expensive.

Russ typically responds quickly when tagged on MCA FB. Plus he occasionally comments on posts so replying to his comment gets his attention.
