Thanks for the comments :)
Gonna convert rear brakes to disc over the winter, I think that will help the autocrossing times a bit.

I thought about redrilling the holes in the front plate to move it up a bit more and then bend it so at least the numbers are more visible

Going to install a T5 and it has a hydraulic clutch setup so... since I'm going to need a hydraulic clutch pedal setup why not just add dual master cylinders at the same time, how much work can it be, right.

After a lot of cutting, welding, grinding and Bondo, I'm hoping this was the hardest part :P

Finally got the new engine/turbo fired up and I'm liking the passenger side engine bay, just not the driver side cluster f@*k! winter project coming to clean that up.

Thank you, yes I made it out of various stainless elbows, I've wanted a tig welder for quite some time so this was my excuse for getting one

Been having fun all summer with the car, few know what it is but all seem to like it.
I should make a video of it, it puts a huge grin on everyones face when I nail it (well at least my motor head friends)
I'm currently running 20 psi boost and in 3rd gear I'm getting the occasional clutch slip, I plan on going more boost but fell I need to upgrade first.
I'm currently running the 2.3 Spec stage 3 clutch with their aluminum flywheel rated at 425 torque, even the best one they offer for the 2.3 is 599 torque, not much headroom since I'll be going higher boost.
I'm looking at their 5.0 clutches namely the 3+ rated at 790 torque.
Spec has the perfect flywheel it seems:
https://www.stinger-performance.com/sto ... r-flywheel
I'll need the adapter plate:
http://www.cididit.com/adaptor_plate.htm
a 5.0 bell housing with hydraulic clutch slave and somewhere in the future a TKX.

Things that I question are will the stock starter work?
Will my current T5 input shaft be long enough?
Will I still have room for my 3" downpipe?

Someones done this to their XR I'd bet.

I can't say with 100% confidence, but I am pretty sure since you are talking about what I am also planning, somewhat.

Stock starter, meaning stock XR starter? I'd say no, but I'm surprised you're running that still anyway, go with a 92/93 Mustang PMGR starter.
It weighs half and is much smaller than the huge original starter.

Input shaft should be long enough, but if a 5.0 size, you'll need to have it ground down to fit the 2.3 pilot bearing.
Why do you need a hydraulic clutch slave cylinder for this? Or just want it that way?

I'm sure you know that the downpipe will fit, but probably also need to be modified to go around the bellhousing.

I've got that adapter and 5.0 trans/bellhousing already, if you need info on it, let me know.
It's on the shelf, not on the car, so easier access.

I have a hydraulic clutch setup and love it! I'm running the TurboCoupe hydraulic bell housing.
Side note: Not sure I'd trust a hydraulic throw out bearing, I've heard some bad things,
I'm leaning towards an externally mounted slave, kinda like what I currently have.

Thanks, I went ahead and ordered the adapter, I'll have to shop around for the bell housing.

I'm running Pyropete's crank trigger setup, haven't had any issues.

I haven't been able to find any information on a v8 clutch in a xr, so I thought I'd post some.

Checking some clearances for a V8 clutch setup, I ordered the quicktime bell housing mainly because it is smaller than the aluminum ones, so I thought it might fit without modifications.

I'm testing things without a clutch or flywheel.

1st thing I noticed is when installing or removing the v8 bell housing from the motor you will need to drop the stabilizer bar and torque brace from the body, but I'm unsure if this will even work once the clutch is installed, so you may have to pull the motor to work on clutch.

Edit: 2nd thing - a 3" downpipe will fit, doesn't look like it by the photo or actually in person, but you can squeeze in a 3" but it would be tight, I'm going for it.

TKX with V8 Quicktime bellhousing, there's ample room for a cable driven clutch, I wanted a push type external hydraulic slave... but it will not fit :(

Gotta take it back apart again, I'll be using a hydraulic throwout bearing.
