Vehicles registered as historic are exempt from emissions inspections, at least here in NY and NJ. Even without that, as of a few years ago, inspections got easier for anything pre-OBD2 (pre '96). I guess they figured the overwhelming majority of the on-road vehicles were now OBD2, so they just rely on that to do an "electronic inspection" rather than a physical one.
Move to Maryland; folks 70+ who own cars are exempt from bi-annual emissions testing.

Oh, their car must be driven less than 5K/year-which you've got covered by, um, 5K it seems. :headbang

YMMV ;-)

It runs!

No fuel leaks and only one oil leak. I guess oil lines need to be more than just finger tight, eh?

Four weeks from tonight I'll be packing up for the trip to Carlisle. Better keep my head down and keep plugging - still a bunch to do - but this was an important step.

Great job Brad! Can't wait to be driving down the highway with you to Carlisle and catching all the double-takes.

It's a Brat, no it's an XR, wait a minute . . . . it's a XRBrati!

I guess I'll update this thread with this too. Scorpio steering column and switches, now fully functional.

Five years later, history repeats itself. Had to bail on the custom exhaust and put the tired old Borla back in. Eventually I'll get a side-exit in this thing, but this will do for now...

I have both. I did consider chopping the custom elbow in half and adding the 3/4" to it that would have enabled the downpipe to fit. But I'd rather not do that with the pressure of a deadline before me. Deadlines are good mind you; I'm sure I wouldn't be driving this thing as I am now had it not been for a deadline. But damn, my ass is kicked.

Brad,

Any idea how much time and money you have in this? I'm guessing it would have been cheaper to import a P100 with a Cossie engine, but maybe not as satisfying. Looks good!
