I'm curious how robust 3D printed weather stripping would be? Would it hold up to the elements, and not turn to dust when UV light from the sun hits it? I know nothing about 3D printed materials, keep it in "idiot speak"...

The material is thermoplastic polyurathane (TPU) it can be anywhere from 60-90 durometer but I typically print 85 durometer. I would say it is very close to the flex of the original material.
As far as durability perhaps this would help.

"TPU (Thermoplastic Polyurethane) is a thermoplastic, more specifically a linear elastomeric polymer belonging to the family of polyurethanes. This material is characterized by its high resistance to abrasion, certain chemical elements, UV rays and low temperatures. This set of properties makes the use of the TPU widespread throughout the industry."

Thanks, I will check this out and try to understand.brokencase wrote: ↑Tue Sep 07, 2021 4:38 pmThe material is thermoplastic polyurathane (TPU) it can be anywhere from 60-90 durometer but I typically print 85 durometer. I would say it is very close to the flex of the original material.

Door sill cover buttons.
On some cars some button covers were hacked on removal or lost.
YMMV

Repurposing the coin slot holder cubby on Scorpios. I don't have an idea for that now but maybe others might.

Not sure what you mean here. Are these on the door cards?Ed Lijewski wrote: ↑Tue Sep 21, 2021 7:31 am Door sill cover buttons.

Funny you should mention this. The other day I was thinking that it would be neat to mount a digital oil pressure gauge that would be concealed behind an altered and 3d printed coin slot door.Ed Lijewski wrote: ↑Mon Nov 08, 2021 1:31 pm Repurposing the coin slot holder cubby on Scorpios. The plastic over the interior door sill edges that cover the carpeting edge. The screw hole buttons get fogged up on removal or lost. Open a door and look at the sill.brokencase wrote: ↑Sun Nov 14, 2021 12:51 amNot sure what you mean here. You know the cover or blind for the open space between the IP and the top of the steering wheel when the steering wheel is adjusted downward? It's supposed to be secured in place by inserting its upper end into a crevice on the lower lip of the IP cover frame. But the cover always falls down later and usually sooner.
A better design to serve the same purpose is needed.

Re: 3d models for components of XR4ti and Scorpio
Could someone please post some decent photos of the Scorpio flashlight key?
Top view, side view, edge view, with a ruler next to the key in each photo.
Also, a photo with the battery compartment opened up with the cover set to the side would also be good.
Thanks...
