Post by ztee24 »

Well, I know most of you know, that I took home 3 awards!!!
It was the BEST time I have ever had! I felt like a princess! LOL.

Best in Car show...wow..what an award to win from you guys, with all of those wonderful cars out there this year!

Thank you for telling my story. That was very meaningful to someone close to me.

Celebrity Pick! Wow...that's an award itself! I always wondered what it was like in the winner circle drive!! Thanks for the cheers!!!

And, 1st place in 88 modified! Awesome!

I can't wait to hit some more shows this summer! It has only begun!

Congratulations on your triple win. It is an absolutely gorgeous car! At the executive luncheon on Saturday, all of the invitees (usually car club officials and other guests of Carlisle) are asked to go out and make their "Celebrity" pick. I think that your car may have been picked by Bill Miller of Carlisle Productions, but I'm not 100% sure on that. No matter, it was a great and well deserved win.

Brad Anesi was the 'celebrity' picker for our group, and the boy done good.

T - your car was great (really great :D) but it was the story that made it special for everybody, including the judges. Material possessions are one thing, but making a connection with another human and honoring that connection (this time through your car) after they go is untouchable. You are a great example of 'keeping the flame' and something that we all should aspire to. Erik is OK too

Glad that I got to meet you guys...hope to see y'all again soon!

Taryn,
Congratulations! Yes your car DOES stand out, but there were so many EXCELLENT Merks there!
You should be quite please to SWEEP the awards, you all deserve it. To clarify, Brad did not pick your car, BILL MILLER DID. Because EVERYONE in the MERKUR COMMUNITY stole the weekend (Merkur give-a-way car, 236 cars, almost 10% of the highest attended Ford event people drove Merks), Bill Miller asked us to help him pick a Merkur as HIS celebrity pick. We showed him a few, he loved your car. He kept commenting about what a great group we have- enthusiastic, dedicated and great cars. You should be thrilled that #1)the co-founder of Carlisle came to the Merkur group for his pick and #2) he picked your car.
Yes, the weekend was sure great.

Your car is really great! The awards are well deserved.

Best of all is it is an 88 so my 87 doesn't have to compete with it.

Yes, the weekend was sure great.
Then the dude announcing it got it all horribly wrong and said that Brad picked it out. I heard it that way and I didn't even sip a beer on Sunday - well, Sunday after about 1:45AM

A terrific and well-deserved result! BTW, nice of you to include PM in the pics-- see, it's all about the love!

Speaking of love, I love the fact that we were the largest group in this, the largest gathering of Fords.

YOU SCREWED UP, FORD! YOU PULLED THE PLUG ON A GREAT LINE OF CARS, AND TRIED TO SWEEP IT ALL UNDER THE RUG! IN YOUR FACE, FORD!

:P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P

Hope they were there and they saw!

Well Taryn, if I would not get a 1st place on the showfield, it sure does NOT hurt to loose to your car. Like it has been said before...the car is freakin' awesome!

The 88 modified class was really tough this year. I feel I am lucky to get 3rd in that class. (Mike & Matt Rutherford won 2nd). When you mention cars owned by Sarah Rutherford, Gus E., Brad Anesi, David Godfrey, etc. it shows that was a real tough group. Come to think about it, I think mine was ALL luck. ...I said come  Why doesn't Godfreys' car ever place on the field? Must be too good, giving others a chance.

Saul got it right,

BILL MILLER came to me..and that was just a great honor meeting him. I read about him after meeting him, and who he was.
Even Hal from Queens noticed him from TV!!! Celebrity pick, wow.

It was a great weekend. I really enjoyed myself, and I knew this would be our year (zues and I).
This was all for him...he would of wanted this, and I am just honored to do it for him.

I hope to see more of you at some events!!!!
