New Hotel for Merkurs at Carlisle 2007

Post by DPDISXR4Ti »

After three years of mixed reviews at the Hotel Carlisle, we decided it’s time for a change in 2007. For those of you that have been around the Merkur scene for a number of years, we will be returning to the property we last stayed at in 1999, the Holiday Inn located in Mechanicsburg (www.hiharrisburgwest.com). All 219 rooms at this hotel have recently been renovated and all rooms have hi-speed internet access. Most importantly (for many of us), the parking lot area at this hotel is regarding by most as being the “bestâ€Â

Thanks John. I've been trying to get back to the HI for the past two years, but room availability and pricing have been the deal breakers. It was a more difficult negotiation than I've experienced with the two previous properties, but eventually I got what we need. :thumb

That is GREAT news!!!
Of all the places we have stayed at, this one was my favorite. I have many fond memories there and have some terrific pictures of Merkurs in the early morning sunrise.
All I can say is.....'bout time!!!

Good memory Ian! Indeed the parking area in back opens up to a perfect eastern exposure to watch the sun rise! 8)

I can't stress enough... Make your reservation early. Do it now and be done with it! It is entirely likely that our block of rooms and the entire hotel will be sold out well in advance. I'm tired of people crying on my shoulder, wondering why they can't make a reservation 5 days before the show!

Hmmm, an interesting dilema Mark.... To me, Carlisle isn't Carlisle unless I hang out in the parking lot until all hours of the night, finally trudging off to my room at oh-dark-thirty.

Maybe if your brother lived across the street from the hotel, it would be okay ...but that would mean he lives in a truck-stop ....wait, no it wouldn't, we're not staying THERE this year! :D

Tell him he needs to buy a house in Mechanicsburg ...preferably within walking distance of the Holiday Inn.
