Ran into a member (not literally!) at the local Home Despot today and he highly recommended joining this site. I've been lurking for a while, mostly searching for answers to my small "FAQ" type of questions.. Must have been fate, I usually take the golf cart there!!
New to Merkur but no stranger to turbo Fords and Dodges. I've been having a lot of fun with Omni GLH-Ts..
She has some issues but she is for sure a solid example. The thing that made me hand over the dough was that it really dosen't look like anyone has ever tried to modify it other than a radio. It may be the best $500 car I have ever owned! I just did the brakes tonight and next week she goes in to have the trans done. Yes I'm having the C3 rebuilt, I want a T-5 swap but I also want to enjoy the end of summer and fall with it.. T-5 next year.. Or C4?? Hmmm
I'll get some pics tomorrow! |

Thanks! Forgot my manners for a minute..
The GLH is a great unsung hero from the 80s.. 14 psi, an IC, 3" exhaust, a good trans and drag radials can put you in the 11s quick and insanely cheap!
Guess that's the formula for any turbo car though..

Welcome to the club.
I'm out in the western burbs myself.
We've also got a great resource or pimp depends on who you ask, up in North Chicago at Merkur Parts Midwest. |
