Re: Themal limiting fuse - Blower Only Works on High Setting, XR
With the decline of Radioshack, I'm looking for a different model for the fuse. It looks like this one from Micro Center will work but I wanted to make sure, and others on here may want to know in the future as well.

(Part Number NTE8125 at Micro Center if the link doesn't work.)

Re: Themal limiting fuse - Blower Only Works on High Setting, XR
I've used that one from Micro Center. It has lower max surge and operating temps, than selections available on the internet, but its working. Tip: slways start the blower and run it on high first for a while to overcome any initial resistance at the bearings.
I also ordered a packet of higher temps Chinese thermal fuses and have them in reserve. I had earlier removed the blower and lubricated bearings and it spun very nicely, but over time the fuse blew again. It's simpler to replace the fuse than to R&R the blower.
YMMV

Never crossed my mind to run it on high first. The reason does make sense though. I can't imagine it would hurt.
