XR4Ti Production pics

Post by Steve Saxty »

I grabbed a bunch of XR4Ti production shots that I'm sharing on Facebook and here on this forum. I asked Club members if they would like one of the remaining copies of my book 0 I keep them in NYC so you get postage for $5 instead of $23 from the UK.

People got very enthusiastic and there is just one Collector's Edition left now and five Standard Ed, If you want to read samples and order https://www.stevesaxty.com/us-samples.

Meanwhile, enjoy the pics and I'll post all 14 when I get time!

Nice.
The best way to keep your Kia from being stolen is to not have a Kia.

Imagine having a video of that assembly line... That would have been so interesting to see. Amazing photos too.

Steve, Do you happen to have production numbers for the Merkur XR4Ti ?
There is a lot of conflicting information floating around...

42,464 reported here on the MCA: http://merkurclub.net/History_5_Facts.htm

42,372 cited in a Motor Trend article here: https://www.motortrend.com/news/1985-19 ... ers-guide/

The 42,464 are referred to as "sold" and the 42,372 are referred to as "imported". Seems it would be difficult for Ford to sell 92 more than were imported. :?

Wonder if those 92 cars were destined for other markets?
