Thingaverse / Printables Downloads for 3D Printing Plastic Parts

Post by DPDISXR4Ti »

As 3D printers now enter the sub $300 price range, it's becoming all the more common for the hobbyist to own one for casual use. I'm sure this link will get dated quickly, but here's an article discussing the best budget 3D printers...
https://www.cnet.com/tech/computing/bes ... d-printer/

We're fortunate to already have some people who have designed some parts for the Merkurs and have offered them up for download on Thingaverse.com and/or Printables.com

Let's use this thread to provide links to some of those designs. Note that while you can download the files for free, there's also the option to "tip" the designer if you use his or her design.

Turbo, that is super cool and thanks for posting,

FWIW, For my GT6 and Healey, I recently put together an ESP32 combined with a gauge stepper motor and a GPS.
A similar arrangement for tach.

Given the problems with the original gauges I was thinking about doing the same for the Scorpio.

This panel blank will allow me to experiment with out messing with the original cluster.

Thanks for following through on this Jerry. I've found the Scorpio cluster to have more potential issues than the XR, so this could be the difference for keeping some more of these cars on the road as time passes.

Here's a couple of the mock-ups Jerry did using AutoMeter gauges. With the second layout you obviously loose the idiots lights. I'd likely opt for the layout with the three 2" gauges that retains the idiot lights.

That was Jeremy. I think he got it from Jeff Herson, but I'm not certain of that. As such, I don't believe it's in the "public domain".

It was from Peter at Rapido. I seem to recall another company a while back making them maybe they are from the same place but who knows.
At least mine wont be dropping chunks if plastic bits from the roof any longer.

Edit:
Here's the 3d models for the lens that I saw a while back:

This was the company that was printing them:

Here is a snip of the Hazard button contact holder insert I was working on before. Its not quite ready for prime time yet but maybe see how much interest there is in this one.
