I should have bartered for a later and thicker rear anti-sway bar in exchange for the US spec headlights I sent to him!
In any case Vovan, please keep us updated on your progress. We do not often see full restorations like that which you are performing.
I do hope you will be able to source some original leather seats in good condition.

Cabin filter integration
I bought a housing from a Ford Scorpio 2, where a cabin filter was provided at the factory.
It had to be modified in order to combine the climate control element from Merkur with this housing.
I also reviewed the remaining components and either replaced or repaired them. I also replaced all the seals.

Bent rods? Did the engine inhale some water?
New pistons and rods I presume, yes? Oversize pistons?
Looks good - keep the pictures coming!

I like the cast aluminum valve covers. Rare items. I don't like them painted blue but that is your personal choice.
I hope you inspected cylinder heads for cracks, they have been known to crack if engine overheated.
The blower power module can fail. Instructions for DIY repair are in the IMON email archives. Don't need to worry about it now. Can be fixed later if needed.
Nice that they were able to fit cabin filter in later Scorpios. Make sure you put some good lubrication on the plastic fan motor bushings. Like Teflon grease or something like that.
It all looks great Vovan.
I am also curious - How did that con rod bend?

I don't know how the connecting rod got bent. I didn't even notice it right away, the engine was working pretty well. I took it apart to change the gaskets and clean it, but I found a bent connecting rod and an ellipse in another cylinder. Yes, the pistons are new, oversize (0.5 mm) from 2.8. Accordingly, the compression ratio will be increased.

Re: Restoration of Merkur Scorpio in Russia
Ultimately you paint them the color that you desire.
Original valve covers were sort of a silver/titanium. More silver than titanium.
With age and heat of the engine they took on a golden hue, which several owners have erroneously assumed was the original color, and so they incorrectly re-paint them in a silver gold color.
I have attached pictures of "new" and "old" valve covers. Photos courtesy of Paul West.
Note the attachment points on the original valve covers for the ignition wire separators.
