MN-12 brake master adapter plate and spacer inquiry
I'm in the process of retrofitting the Tbird/Cougar MN-12 brake master onto my 85 with the +87 booster setup.
I need a few measurements if anyone is able to help.
I'm using a random picture from the internet to measure out and I'm concerned I'm not going to get the proper final product.
If anyone can measure mounting spacing between all 4 of the mounting holes that would be amazing.

I have a local machine shop willing to make these so I can have them available to the community if everything works out for fitment.

I guess nobody is interested....??? I was by the machine shop today and they're going to make making this for me. Also going to be making an egr block off plate, t5 trans tunnel cover and a few other bits but like...where is everyone??
Re: MN-12 brake master adapter plate and spacer inquiry
Not sure that many people would be going with that master cylinder due to the bore size, that may be reason for the lack of interest.
What is the trans tunnel cover you are thinking of?

David Godfrey may have the exact mechanical drawings you are after. There are DG adapters floating around out there. Have you tried contacting MCA vendors?

You think so? It's only 1/16" larger than the 87+ setup and I know a lot of people on here run a larger volume braking system...rear disks, larger fronts ect. What other brake masters are used for a stock bore alternative? I don't mind making some to fit other brake masters but I haven't found many other conversions.

No I'm new to this forum and the community, so I'm not sure who's actually around and operating still. It seems like a lot of companies that were common or popular back in the day aren't in business anymore.andyofcolumbusmerkur wrote: ↑Tue Oct 01, 2024 8:27 pm David Godfrey may have the exact mechanical drawings you are after. True. That's why David might not mind at all (meet him once he's cool) if you started producing some of his parts. I think the new people behind Rapido do this with the clutch adjuster. Right now you pretty much have Rapido, Merkur Depot and Merkur Parts Midwest. The rest have moved on. It's not a real big market for special parts on such a rare car.Jack_James wrote: ↑Tue Oct 01, 2024 8:57 pmNo I'm new to this forum and the community, so I'm not sure who's actually around and operating still. In my experience, going to a higher volume MC piston makes harder pedal feel, and takes a lot more leg to apply the same force on the calipers. I am not sure of the diameters of these masters are stock, but I try to stay with the later model unit, or as mentioned before, go with the powered unit from the Scorpio.Jack_James wrote: ↑Tue Oct 01, 2024 8:55 pmYou think so? Rapido is still in business?? I can't find anything on contact info for them. Where is that available? I definitely should check with David about reproducing his parts if he's still making them. That seems proper. I honestly thought Rapido and DG were both done and moved on!andyofcolumbusmerkur wrote: ↑Wed Oct 02, 2024 6:41 amTrue.
