Motive Brake Bleeder $30.oo

Post by Bob Weir »

You can do it yourself! You don't need a brake pusher.

Over the years brake fluid will collect moisture, therefore you really should flush the brake fluid every few years.
How old is your Merkur's brake fluid?

Easy to do! Add brake fluid to tank, connect cap to master cylinder, compress the handle and start bleeding your brakes.

New ones start about $45, but the kicker is the cap, especially for newer cars that have many different caps. Motive changed the hose connections to threaded fittings for tank <-> cap. This one uses a barb & hose clamp on both ends. This cap fits both Scorpio and XR. I used it on my Scorpios. I just replaced the hose, but you have to get 2 hose clamps unless I find 2 good ones in my stash.

If you want to use it on other cars, I suspect it could be used on many Fords of that era. I'll do the research to find other compatible master cylinders and post info here.

To calculate shipping cost it weighs about 2.75 lbs from zip 18104.
