Door Hinge Adjustment

Driver side door is tweaked and I want to adjust the hinges so the door shuts cleanly again. Lower dash and kick panel out I can easily get to the bottom hinge nuts. The shop manual makes it sound easy to remove a trim piece and get to the upper hinge nuts....... I cannot see how that's possible. Do you have to remove the dash to get to those nuts?
